Our common conception of learning is fundamentally misorienting the ways we parent and educate. In the name of educating and parenting children, we are seriously injuring their faith in learning – their faith in their ability to learn. Nothing is more important to their futures than how well they can learn when they get there. Nothing is more important to how well they can learn when they get there than their faith in their ability to learn. Changing how we commonly conceive of learning can change how we commonly learn about everything – can improve how our children – how our population – learns.
